What to say? This lot clearly can’t provide any clinically useful systems with protracted outages like this. I am not quite sure what is acceptable but a recent poll of users suggested 99.9%+ as a minimum. This lot have used up an annual allowance or two with all this!
Just hopeless. See blog later today for another little issue!
David.
Late Note: Apparently things are close - but not totally back to normal at of 10:30am Monday 8/10/2012. Seems they have been pretty long outages to me!

Actually it is a public holiday Monday in Canberra today. Don't be too hard on Medicare- they copped most of the trickier riskier bits of the pcehr- the first use of the hi service, the first repository supplying data, the registration of consumers and providers, the last minute fix for the missing Nash , the call centre etc, while Doha, Nehta sit back - now watch them blame the dept of human services now cos their nehrs is not working!

I am not sure what you say justifies what we are seeing. If it was too hard they should have refused to play ball with NEHTA and DoHA till all was ready - not just pretend all would be OK.

There is a PCEHR requirement that the IHI must have been validated within the last 24 hours prior to access. If the HI Service is down then the IHI cannot be validated. So the PCEHR cannot be accessed.

I wonder if anyone who has been tracking this in detail can estimate the PCEHR downtime both as a cumulative figure in days, and as a %, since launch? Would be interesting.

"Actually it is a public holiday Monday in Canberra today."

That is not relevant to a service which is meant to be national. Monday was a normal working day in several states. Maintenance coverage is still required.
