AusHealthIT Poll Number 286 – Results – 6th September, 2015.

Here are the results of the poll.

Do You Think The Replacement Of NEHTA By The New Aust. Commission For eHeath Will Make A Positive Difference?

For Sure 3% (3)

Probably 6% (6)

Neutral 18% (18)

Probably Not 53% (52)

No Way 19% (19)

I Have No Idea 0% (0)

Total votes: 98

Looks like there is very little confidence that the proposed ACeH - in its present form - will make much difference.

Good to see such a great number of responses!

Again, many, many thanks to all those that voted!

David.

My question is more around is the new commission being setup for success, I appreciate things need to progress but Nehta and the the department of PCEHR seem to be making decisions and implementing poorly thought through solutions (if that is an appropriate term) that will result in either years of unpicking or commit the commission in seeing through to the end, which means it cannot be anything other the the same problem child born in 2010, that has all but destroyed an oppertunity to attract the right people to work at a national and collaborative level.

Opt in or opt out, point to point, they are all doomed to years of problems because those running NEHTA have failed to maintIn the national specifications and don't recognise standards.

As a point of note, Nehta CDA specifications have gone quite on P2P to the point they don't support it, but then they are so bloated and full of errors and missing information that is probably best not to use them. In there defends at least the errors are common so there is always value in copying others Past mistakes than modelling from requirements
